CA's Bullet Train to No Where Cost Increase and Delayed Another 4 years

Way to go CA on approving this ridiculous project 10 years ago. New reports set to be released by the California High-Speed Rail Authority estimate an increase in cost to $77 billion with an estimated completion date of 2029, 4 additional years. In addition to this, the problem of how to cross the mountains still has not solved. It's not like these mountains just popped up. Contractors building this have found the equivalent of the golden goose. Just one more reason to get out of here...haha. End Rant

Are you complaining about California?

WA just approved by initiative vote (a crooked voting system here in WA) to fund (literally a blank check) a rail system that is late, way over budget and with just a hint for the completion date. That travesty is already costing an increase over $500 in out property taxes. And the local retards celebrate this kind of government robbery.

This is why, when I can finally escape California, Washington will not be where I run to. 🤣

Sounds like Georgia when it comes to roadwork :naw:

There is a highway out here that they randomly decided needed to be changed from two lanes to four lanes to help ease the horrible traffic the road was experiencing at all times of the day, so they budgeted 20 million or so, and 2 years for the expansion......75 million and 5 years later, its just now almost done, and the traffic is ten times worse than it was before.

Sounds like the gas tax (.12 per gallon) and car registration increase that went into affect last November. No vote just approved by state government.

I love the state for all it has to offer (history, weather, recreation, geography, topography, trail, recreation). Just can't stand most people's viewpoints and the government's mindset. It's why I'm looking for my out..haha.

Northern NV is one place on my radar for sure along with Southern ID. I'd look into WY or MT but I'm not sure could handle the winters. I enjoy pumping my own gas and my carbon footprint so OR is out...haha.

Theres so much in terms of outdoor stuff to do here. Surfing, hiking, mountain biking, scuba diving, mountain climbing, spelunking... take your pick Endless miles of exploring in the sierras. Once you get bored there(if thats even possible), head up to the trinity alps, or if you want some arid climates head to the Mojave.

For the most part at least we can get away from all the political bull shit. [emoji481]

Yeah, the state has anything and everything to offer, but the good time you just had for the day is taken away by gridlock even on Sunday. Not worth it. You WILL sit in traffic for hours. No exceptions. Total bummer....
