Big Bear in the fall.

Hey all. Been a hectic summer and the jeep is unfortunately, still not cooperating. However, now that I’m a SoCal resident I really want to check out Big Bear once work calms down a bit next month.
It is unlikely the jeep will make the trip as its list of issues seems to be growing rather than shrinking however, I’m planning on taking some kind of vehicle (likely one of my Adv bikes) there around the 10th of October for a three day weekend.
My question is, what can I expect in terms of fall temps, trail conditions and crowds? I’d imagine it’s similar to the Uintas back in Utah but, I wanted to get a clear picture from some of you that have been up there.

Of course, any and all are welcome to come along even though I likely won’t be in the jeep.

October weather can be weird. Warm days with cold nights. Crowds are always there on the weekends so if you can go mid week you'd be better off. Also be heads up for idiot sXs drivers. They're rampant and pay no attention while driving as fast as they can. Let me know when you go and I can go tool around with you. BTW what part of SoCal are you in? Thought you were going to be an Aussie?

Rad thanks for the heads up dude and it would be rad to connect if we can make something work.
Alabama hills is another area I’m considering in case Big Bear is a no-go.
I’m in Carlsbad now and the whole relocation thing really went sideways as Lila’s company repurposed the location in Sydney and instead, consolidated her team to their Escondido facility. Worked out for the better but it was a lot of fast decision making and a ton of juggling. Made for a really hectic summer.
