Beadlocks

Eddie I see you run beadlocks on a lot of your rigs on the road. Do you get them balanced after you mount the tires yourself?

High quality tires like the kind that Nitto makes typically do not require balancing. However, there is no such thing as perfect and IF I feel a need to have them balanced, I just take my Jeep over to my local Discount Tire and have them do it for me using tape weights.

Do you have them static or dynamic balance them?

If you buy your tires from Discount Tire, they will balance your beadlocks after you mount them and provide rotating and balance services for the life of the tire.
The Nitto tires I have on the beadlocks required very little weights unlike the BFGs

Not true. Depends on location. I was turned down by multiple locations for beadlocks. Their written policy is they don't work on beadlocks and I believe it's because most are not DOT approved.

Not 100% sure but pretty sure Discount Tire does dynamic balancing. Either way, I rarely find the need for it.

Years ago, this was definitely an issue especially in CA. I have not seen this be a problem in a long time though. I personally spoke with corporate about it and was told they changed their policy a few years back. But then, it wouldn't surprise me if there are some stores that didn't get the memo. Either way, our local Carson City store does it without batting an eye.

My local store will balance then and even break the back bead if I pull the ring. They said they started doing this due to a lot of SxS's running beadlocks and working on their tires.

Next time, I may just bring them the wheels and tires and ask them to balance them, and see what they say.

I’ve called and asked twice over the past few years. Each time they say no beadlock balancing, but I get the feeling it may be a ‘you don’t say anything, we don’t say anything’ situation.

If they ask just tell them they're simulation beadlocks

I've never ran the Nitto's but my BFG KM3's seem to ride really well without being balanced. The Cooper STT Pros definitely shook and needed balancing and my Maxis AT's were okay but noticeable until I got them balanced.

I have one tire shop in town that will balance the beadlocks if I drop them off loose but absolutely will not touch them if they're on the vehicle.
