A TJ called The Lion

Drummond island trip was quite a success. Well, for everyone but 1 jeep
Wednesday evening started out at Turtle ridge off road park. We went down to the lower found some ledges and put the jeeps to work. This being my first time really getting a feel for the new build i went pretty mild on it, but it sure felt good so far. Getting comfortable with the clutch and new gears took until about the middle of day 2. By day 3 me and The Lion were 1 again.
As always drummond had its usual dust and mud to offer. I did my best to leave as much there as possible, but as some of you know its a challenge. Really the island was pretty dry compared to what its been like at other times. One thing for sure we had 4 straight days of good freinds, great weather and cool jeeps. What more could we ask for?!
Half of our group went home Sunday morning leaving 4 of us at the island for the last day. We decided we wanted to go back to the park and clear some of the most difficult that hasn't seen any traffic in long time. Our goal started out going well. Then about an hour in the Yj needed some big help. This would turn into about a 4 hour recovery from a nice swampy hole. This 4 hours was filled with laughter, frustration, and some choice curse words.
In the end we had 3 jeeps working to get the Albino out of this deep ass mud. Finally Matt hooked onto him and I hooked onto Matt and we tugged that big heavy non running YJ back to dry ground. I did neglect to mention that on the previous day the yj also sheared 3 bolts off a high steer arm. Didnt stop us long tho, 2 or 3 hours later the YJ known as Albino was back in action. I must say its pretty impressive watching and participating in these trail repairs and recoveries. For me it really is part of the adventure. Matt and his dad can sure come up with some creative ways to get shit done when necessary. Okay onto some pics.

I think it was on the 2nd day we drove by an old mill. It had my interest so I swung back for a closer look.

Ugh, that mud! Had my share of that shit! Looks like it was a blast. Your Jeep is absolutely badass. It's really unique with that front stretch. Congrats on a successful outing (y)

I did good in the mud this time. Sure I took a few globs in but no where what I did the first time I was with everyone. Had my top off almost the whole time too.
The dust won't let me escape a deep cleaning tho.
