It really fits so many times.Cracks me up any time you post that meme![]()
That's crazy. With the cost of food, utilities, etc, it's mind boggling that anyone modding a jeep would want to throw down the $ on something like this.Unfortunately it's not going away and getting brought up more and more as social media as spread it like the herpes.
But but but, you can drive over a 5 gallon bucket and not hit your diff!!That's crazy. With the cost of food, utilities, etc, it's mind boggling that anyone modding a jeep would want to throw down the $ on something like this.
And doing it on stock axles and sometimes stock suspension. That's crazy. With the cost of food, utilities, etc, it's mind boggling that anyone modding a jeep would want to throw down the $ on something like this.
Actually, those are the BIGGEST selling points or at least, what I get guys telling me all the time. That you don't need to upgrade your axles or wheels and that you can run it on the "awesome factory suspension"And doing it on stock axles and sometimes stock suspension.
If I had portals, I could aim straight for the feral cats, scare the shit out of the people feeding the cats, let them call the police, show them my portals, drive over a 5 gallon bucket with a cat face on it, then remind the police it's against city code to feed the feral cats, file a complaint against them people feeding the, and make sure the police ticket those people. But but but, you can drive over a 5 gallon bucket and not hit your diff!!![]()

Hey if you want them, I'm happy to get them for you hahaJeremy needs to start selling them!
I never knew it but I guess I’ve always wanted to drive over 5 gallon bucketsHey if you want them, I'm happy to get them for you haha
I can relate to this.I actually kind of want less stuff (that I can’t deal with) that can break on the trails, not more. I guess that means portals are not in my future.
Admittedly, I fall into the overlanding (I call it camping) category since I carry tools, an RTT, and a bunch of survival stuff, but I’ve never felt like my gladiator has ever been limited by its modest lift and 37’s. It also drives better than stock on the freeway.
Portals certainly have their place but for some reason, mainly the internet, everyone seems to think they need them.My dad has portals on his side by side. It is a freaking beast with them in the rocks. Not sure id want them on a Jeep though. I understand the concept but have no real need for them outside a SxS
You're just a hater. $20K for leaky doodads that bolt onto your factory axles so that you can run bigger tires and lets you keep your awesome factory suspension sounds like a hell of a deal to meActually, I had a customer call me the other day to ask my opinion on portals. He indicated he only really uses his Jeep JK for hunting on fire roads but seemed to think he really needed them for deep snow. Of course I explained he certainly didn't need them that that if anything, 20k would be much better spent on bigger axles if he really wanted an upgrade since he wanted to run 40's or 42's. He then indicated he was told by 74weld that he could run 42's on the stock axles with the portals because of the gearing....... Crazy thing is, this guy then sat on the phone trying to convince me why this was ok and why he should do it. Of course it got to a point where I just had to say, if that's what you want to do then go for it.
