2025 RAM 2500 HD : First Impressions

Thank you. Pretty happy with it so far.

Yeah, the 8-speed TorqueFlite addition along with the HO Cummins is a big part of why we started looking at RAM. As far as DEF delete goes, I think I'll wait at least until our warranty is up.

I wouldn't doubt there are benefits to the delete aside from no longer needing to pour that shit in.
How much def are you using tank wise per tank of fuel?

I’ve always been partial to the look of the Ram trucks, and the fact they’re coil sprung over the others, but their powertrains is what has me still comparing all trucks.

That being said, I totally agree with you and when I still worked at CDJR and the 2025 2500s came in, the HO with the 8 speed made a huge difference and we had a lot of people wanting it that were tired of the old 6 speed paired to the Cummins.

Makes me want one! (Absolutely cannot afford whatsoever lol)
The coil springs and solid front axle really make it feel like a Jeep and if one is so inclined to do, it's real easy to lift and work on it like one.

Also, I'm one of those people who started wanting one LOL
Yeah Man... I had a hard time transitioning from my steel body 05 GMC to the Aluminum Ford... You'll get used to it... Kind of. Lol
LOL at "kind of". I literally just put a small dink in the body when my tool bag just slightly made contact with it. Really pissed me off and I guarantee you it would never have happened on my 06 Duramax.

Yep my new van has it. Once the warranty expires I'll have to look to see if there is a delete kit...haha.

Good report on this! That center media screen would be a huge concern for me on going out but man does it look good there. I don't know (haven't even looked to be honest) if someone makes a replacement for that size but I would assume by the time a lot of warranties fad away and people have issues someone would come up with one.
Yup, like I said in my post, the screen looks great and it's really nice to have... while it still works. I have a feeling it'll die way before the truck does and that kind of sucks. Hoping enough of these trucks sell to open a market for them because, I don't know of any other vehicle that uses anything quite like it.

So, we've got a little over 1,000 miles on the odometer now and the DEF gauge is sitting at about 75%. So far, we've been averaging about 400 miles before we stop for more diesel and that's typically at about 1/4 of a tank.

Ha! Last week my Ford got hit on the Passenger door with a foul Ball... right below the glass. Next day I took it to a local dent removal guy and he got it out perfectly.. $300. My GMC would of 100% been fine. Find yourself a good Dent remover. Lol. Guys complain about the Aluminum but even the new steel on trucks is really stupid thin... all to save the planet.

I've found the DEF usage to be minimal when I use our truck as a daily. Obviously use way more when hauling but when I need DEF I fill up at the big truck pumps and fill both tanks at the same time. Those damn boxes are ok as emergency but F using those things

Trivia question: Why do the diesel bros insist on calling the front axle the steer axle and the rear axle as the drive axle? Obviously I know what they refer to Bob, so just don't, but why must they be talked about in semi language? I've been corrected a couple times and it's like shut up dipshit, I'm not a wannabe trucker it's front & rear

Given that you apparently live in California, isn't there a problem if you delete DEF but need to pass the annual smog checks/inspections?

People who live in rural areas where smog checks are not required can likely get away with it, at least until they move to the big city.
