2013 engine stall

Asking for a friend on this
2013 JKUR auto trans 113k miles

Having intermittent engine stalling after the jeep sits for a few days.

Stall is happening after reversing once he stops getting ready to put back into drive or shortly after putting into drive. Sometimes shutters then dies sometimes shutters then back to normal.

Rabbit hole of research maybe torque converter going out or crank shaft position sensors?

Thoughts?

Jeep has to be saying something like Eddie said, and if still nothing I'd honestly have your friend sign up and ask/describe himself which might help him better.

Ill have him run codes on it and see what pops up.

Best full description i got from him is
"When after being in reverse for a second or two. Usually as I’m about to go back into drive. And then a couple times shortly after going back into drive, get an slight shutter. Like a reduction in power for a half second and then back to normal"
Only like 1 every 20 starts. Happens more when its sat a while and really hot days.
No other shutter or stall in any other conditions.

I asked what the RPMs are doing when it shutters and or dies. He said he would look for it next time

First thing anyone should do when troubleshooting a Jeep is fix the battery terminals. Don’t just remove, clean and reinstall them, FIX them. The factory terminals can spread out over time and won’t make good clean contact even when the nut is tight. They have to be squeezed to close the gap before installation. If the battery terminals don’t have solid contact with the battery posts, the Jeep will do really odd things.

My 2016 JKUR automatic has stalled going into reverse right after startup before.
Checked the battery at oreilleys and it was well under its factory power.
Replaced the battery and it did not stall again.

I have replaced my stock battery terminals. Definitely helped with random stuff like this.

However, I feel like I do loose a tiny bit of power when shifting into reverse sometimes. Not sure if it is normal. Would need a time machine to go back 9 years and see if it used to do that lol.
