So I want to re-gear my 2013 Jeep Wrangler unlimited so that I can get bigger tires. What gearing should I go with? I probably won't go any bigger than 35s. And I also wanna get lockers put in. I'm probably gonna end up buying all the stuff at different times because of money, what should I do?IMG_5943.jpg

5.13s is the way to go, even with 35s I think. ARB air locker or Eaton E-locker. If you are locking the front in a D30 you'll want to be easy on it.

In my opinion if you have an automatic I would go with 4:88's. That's what I use with 37's and it's a pretty good choice 95% of the time. At 70 I'm at about 2800rpm's

With 35s and the 3.6 I would say 4.88. I had 35s and 5.13 for a while untill I got my 37s and it was horrible. Engine rpm was around 3400 on the highway, I have a manual btw and the 3.8. Do not go with 35s and 5.13 unless it's a trail rig only. Plus your dana 30 pinion gear with 5.13s will be a veryyyy expensive weak link. Too much gear for a small pinion

With 35s, if I were you, just lock the rear at the same time as the gears. Then match the front with the same gear ratio and no locker. Then be done with it. Then you don't have to pay for labor twice.

Yeah, this and 4.88s is basically my plan until I make the jump to 37s or bigger.

^Solid advice.

Just a thought, I ran 35's on stock gearing for quite a while before finding a need to upgrade. Definitely not ideal, but you can make it work.

I have a 13 Sahara with an automatic, I am currently running 35" tires with 4.88 gears. Like just about everybody else I would recommend against 5.13 as the pinion is far too small. I locked the rear as it's a Dana 44 and left the front open. I wish I would have put a lsd in the front while I had the labor done, as it improves traction but not as much as a selectable locker.
