Bruiser

Well it seems I finally have a balanced driveshaft. Got the JE Reel delivered late yesterday and installed it today. Had to change out the flange on the transfer case which was unexpected but easy. My “old” shaft on its third iteration and is “perfect“, according to the shop, is nearly 0.5” off straight at the spline shaft this new shaft is only 0.2” off. I do feel “something” at 75+ but I’m not going to worry about it.

Here’s a pic of the new Reel vs the locally made one. They’re both made with Neapco parts, but the parts on the old one seem to be much more stout. At some point I’m gonna send the old one to Reel to be fixed and I may just re-install it one as my main.

Why did not you send it back to Reel to begin with?

If you ever got up to Utah, checkout Slyco Drivelines (https://slycodrivelines.com/)

I've had them balance and they resized a front driveshaft when another shop couldn't get it right.

Reasonable pricing as well.

Just bring it to Drive Line & Gear in Reno next time you go that way. They will have it done same day.
