HOME SECURITY CAM - What do You Use?

Do you need at least one of the eufy home bases for the cameras to work?
The c35s only work with the homebase mini.

The e330 pros only work with the regular homebase.

Many of the others use local storage and homebase is not needed. The s330 use local storage in the camera itself. Once it's full, it overwrites. You can download important events at anytime to keep forever.

The s330 that I see all come with a hardrive.

This is the one Eddie and I have. All storage is built into the camera. You can use wifi if you don't want to use the 4g plan.

Do you have to have that gay solar panel or can I just change batteries? What batteries does it use?

It comes with the solar panel. The battery is internal and rechargeable. So if you could do ethernet to usb-c , you could possibly hard wire it. I've run mine without the solar panel and it will work but doesn't last long. If you find a good spot for the solar panel, the power is essentially endless.

It’s not that I can’t find a spot, it’s that I don’t want an ugly solar panel hanging off the camera on the front of my house.

Is hardwiring in a cam an option? If so, there are decent ones you can get. Also, they offer cams with the solar panel built right into them so they just look like they're a cam and nothing else. I have a few of these too and they work well.

Hardwired over Ethernet yes, plug, not so much. At least not easily. I could wire something in but prefer not to. I did see those solar panels built in but I would want to mount them under the eves and would be worried they wouldn’t get enough sun.

The cams require very little sun to get them fully charged. The only side of your house that it may be a problem is the north, especially in the winter. Otherwise, I have a couple that only get a couple hours of morning or afternoon sun and they're always good to go.

Indeed the solar quantity is very low. It's crazy how little exposure they really need.

That's good to know. The north side gets exactly zero sunlight in the winter. lol It was 50 degrees a couple weeks ago and there was still frost on that side of the house at 4pm.
