Hello jeepsters.
I will need new summer tires, and so I started to think might as well upsize. I have looked at hundreds of posts to help me decide on the setup, but I didn't quite find something that fits with my plan, hoping someone out here can help.
First off, sadly I do not take my Jk out for off-roading, this is my daily driver. (maybe in the far future I will try it, but not with this setup I am aware.)
Here's my rig : 2010 JK 2-door Sahara fully stock with 18" stock wheels, and 255/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler A/T.
I am looking to buy 4 new Bridgestone Dueler A/T's on stock 18" wheels, to keep the look consistent with the 5th Dueler in the back (I am surprised I didn't find anyone else posting on forums who wanted to do this too, as a budget upgrade hence purchasing 4 vs 5 tires).
So, having that in mind, I am looking at either 275/70R18 OR 295/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler A/T since both seem to fit on the 18" stock wheels that are 7.5" wide.
CURRENTLY OWN : BSTONE DUELER A/T 255/70R18 6.5-8.5 32.1
BSTONE DUELER A/T REVO 3 LT275/70R18 7.0-8.5 33.2
BSTONE DUELER A/T REVO 3 LT295/70R18 7.5-10.0 34.3
Now, I have seen videos and read posts that say that I could easily upsize to the 175/70R18 with absolutely no issues and no rubbing, with NO LIFT. Which makes sense seeing that there is only a 1.1" difference.
But now I am thinking, well is 2.2" a big deal ? Could I upsize with the 295/70R18 with NO LIFT ?
Keep in mind I absolutely want to steer clear from Spacers, so that is not an option.
I have attached the full specs that I have found (FYI I couldn't find the correct wheelwell and fender spacing, so I went with the maximum this platform would permit) :
Do you guys have enough info on these 2 options to tell me if one of the two is not viable ?
(I have also contemplated on getting Rancho 2" lift with coils and RS5000, but living in a big city the only 4x4 mechanic is 40 minutes away -- and I am not really keen on staying there for an entire day while they install them... So I'm thinking about passing on these, unless you guys think I should ABSOLUTELY get them -- which are out of stock pretty much everywhere I looked).
(Re-gearing if necessary and speedometer calibration is the least of my worries at the moment.)
