What was done to your rig this week?

Well shit, that sucks. I think it would be helpful if you could apply some kind of cast around the break. In the past, I've used a piece of plastic tube that I cut down the middle and then slipped it over and glued it to the broken part. It'll help give it more strength. Of course, this only works if you have enough space to work with as the nipple has a barb and the connector has to slip past it.

I put a tube on the inside. I drilled out the original and slipped a tube inside. I used pvc glue the first time which could be part of it.

It broke last night when trying to put the retainer clip in the line. Pain in the butt since I had the tank already installed.

This is the insert

That’s what I used on the outside the first time. I used it on the inside this time. I’m going to sand the tube a bit I think then coat the outside with the JB plastic weld too. Hopefully that will work.

Plastic can be tricky in that they need specific glues to work. Maybe I missed it before... but how much is the new part?

I wonder what a junk yard gas tank goes for. 700 is crazy just to grab the plastic piece.
Yeah, unfortunately those plastic pieces are "welded" into the tanks, only thing salvageable on the tank if one gets broke at where I work, is the fuel pump itself. Rest of the entire tank goes to scrap.[emoji849]

My buddy had this exact problem a few months ago and fixed his with jb weld for plastic, he also inserted a plastic piece inside the tube. Has been working for him so far

Is that a Evap / breather lines or a fuel line? Cut the end off glue a brass barb nipple in and hose clamp that bitch on and be done with their bad design.
