Should I get a JL or JT

Another thing to think about....that 2.0 turbo is tits fun to drive. You willing to give that up? Everytime I drive the JL, I become Mario Andretti in my own twisted reality.

I'm sure its not as fun as the 392 will be lol :fingerscrossed:
 
In my work truck I went from gas to diesel 2 trucks ago. Chevy only offers a 6.0 gas with 4:11 gears and I was getting 9 mpg. I went to diesel and doubled my mileage. I know it’s not trucker miles but I have 65,000 on my 2019 truck so I figured over the years it would help this situation

I don't necessarily disagree, however my current ram is my first DPF truck and it sitting doesn't seem to bother it, more the short hopping and not getting it out on a highway run so it can regen

seems these comparisons are not quite apples to apples, while the process may be basically the same, I'm certain there are some stark differences between full size truck engines and the eco diesel. put simply the def tank cycle on my ram is 2500 miles, the gladiator is 10k i believe, give or take on both. this tells me that the eco diesel actually burns cleaner which likely puts less stress on the DPF/egr system as it can go 4x longer in terms of its "cleaning" of the exhaust. This is obviously very simple thinking and I may be wrong, but im certainly still considering a diesel Gladiator, but ideally someone will buy one and ill hear about how awesome it is before i go that route lol
Well diesel fuel has a shorter life span than gas dose. As soon as diesel comes out of the pipe the bacteria starts eating away at it. That's the main issue of letting a diesel sit for long periods

That's true.. less refined.. most mine sits for is a few days (weekends). Where I could see yours sitting for weeks..

Even though the JT's are great, I'd miss the enclosed cargo area too much.

This is a big reason why I want to keep my JKU. I love the JT but covered cargo space is nice. The wife wants me to sell my JKU for one of those new 3rd row grand Cherokees tho...

I'm over diesels in small trucks. Yes, they run great, when they run. They cost a shitload of time and money when they don't.

My '16 F-350 has had all the emissions gear replaced, and a turbo, which failed due to the emissions BS.
When I got that done, under warranty fortunately, as it would have cost over $8K, the fuel mileage dropped from an already shitty 14 down to 11.

And the big diesels are no better. I lost over 20% fuel mileage when I went to a newer emissions compliant truck, and it is always having problems.

In the 100,000 miles I have owned it, I have spent more and had more downtime than my '99 did over the 600,000 miles I owned it.
How does burning 20% more fuel lead to a cleaner environment? And don't even get me started on equipment. My older iron would easily run 16,000 hrs, and the newer ones are junk by 8,000.

I stopped doing bulk the end of August. I got tired of their BS. They didn't really want us to go home, I was out for 6 weeks at a time and I put in to go home and 4 hours after I got home they were calling saying they needed me to load the next morning. That happened every time. And about a month after I left one of the dispatchers quit because he couldn't get a day off

Interesting. I really really want a Gladiator but not if I have to give up my JK. I mean it’s a truck. I have been toiling with this quite a bit actually. So then if I get a truck I would want it to be able to tow the Jeep. Gladiator is not the best choice for towing duty. I don’t know. Difficult decision. If it’s one or the other? For me it’s a JL.
