The Jeep is, the Jeep fund is not as healthy as it was a month ago. It’s funny Tina was talking today about how you can’t take your money with you and I had to slip in “so I should have gone 60s?” mid sentence [emoji23][emoji23]

Did a little DIY tailgate table project today. Needs some refinement, but I’m happy with the start of it.

Are you just doing that a couple times a day for 500 miles? I have a laser thermometer that I was going to use to check it but have no idea what temp to look for?

Yeah that's the plan and use it to run errands. I don't know either. The guy who did my gears said just to stretch it out and drive 12-15 miles at a time and let them cool completely off. No heavy acceleration or hot dogging it.

Just clicked 100 miles on the new gears. Only 400 to go...haha.

Yep I have a 15 mile or less loop I try to do twice a day, or run local errands...haha.

you have patience! I packed a cooler and spent 4-5 hours a day driving the freeway.

Drove about 20 minutes at 45-60mph then stop for about an hour to let the gears cool and repeat, took 2 days to get the 500 mile break in done.

OCD has its benefits lol

forgot to add, I had the gears done before going to Moab that year, the drive was slow since I was loaded down and stopping every 15 miles to let the gears cool down-luckily the requirement for that was only for 45 miles.

That was 9 years ago and no issues :2thumbsup:

Caught the Bug
Rear diff cover had been leaking for a while. The bolts kept backing out, leading to drip drip dripping. Turns out all the bolt holes were partially plugged up with RTV. I guess that prevented the bolts from getting fully torqued. So I pulled all that out, degreased the hole and bolt threads, and put all the bolts back in with blue lock tight. Couple of drives around town and no leaks. So far so good. 🤞🏻

Got another 40+ miles done today.

Well the jeep is 8.5 years and has 45k miles. Thats less than 6k miles a year. So I figured I may hit the 500 mile mark by January...haha.
