Jeep accident in nj

Damn, that's scary. It's incredible the child was ejected but seems okay from the report.

I upgraded the roll cage in my YJ after I rolled it. That pic made me think its time to do the same to my JK!

Rolling down a ski slope x20 better be one hell of a roll cage.

If it wasn't for the roll cage in the JK, they would have been killed after the first roll. Rolling 20 times down a 500 foot mountain and being able to make it out alive (critical condition) makes me extremely confident in a rollover in my JK (not that I will ever do something to roll it) , glad their all alive.

Insane!! Sounds like they weren't really supposed to be there in the first place - real lucky to be alive.

Also, as mentioned, it just goes to show just how under-appreciated the factory cage is. Granted, it may not be perfect but, to keep the passengers alive after rolling 20 times isn't so bad.

WOW! this is insane! this just shows how decent the factory roll cage is. not the strongest thing in the world but it protected them for 500 feet.

Sounds like they weren't even supposed to be on the mountain. Sometimes you can't fix stupid.

They definitely weren't supposed to be there, and there probably lucky to be alive.
The trail they were on is called pipeline, is the only double black at the mtn, and is very challenging. The mountain it's self is small, and doesn't compare to larger resorts around.

And it definitely shows how strong the stock cage is for sure.
Also it's cause of stuff like this that off roading in nj is frowned apon.

Okay so I am glad they are all alive since a death might spur trail closure talk... But to think that there are humans like this breeding with impunity is quite scary!

It's interesting the boy was ejected early in the roll so he probably wasn't belted in. Even so, I'm a big fan of the cage and belts. The more, the better. Best wishes for the critically injured father.:yup:

While what happened was tragic and yes they shouldn't have been on that trail, that doesn't condon trashing them on this site. We are a Jeep family.

It's tragic because the guy is a moron, plain and simple. No one is trashing him, just pointing out how stupid his actions were. If I did something like this, which I never would, I would hope someone would call me stupid, because this was!
