It’s not bad. Pretty nice. I would buy this one instead if I was doing it over cause it’s wifi and I don’t have to be so close to the unit for it to work.

I'll give that other one a shot. I see it's so rain proof. I have forgot them on the deck a couple times and had to replace them.
The wifi will come in handy too. I use a horizontal wood burner so you know I'm checking it regularly.

Post up how it works. I have spent too much on thermometers cause I like new gadgets. If it’s good I’ll probably pick one up. I could probably cook 27 chickens and have a probe for each one. Lol

Decided to smoke a Lake Ontario salmon yesterday. Used a dry brine to prep it and used cherry wood

I’m assuming you already got this one. Was testing it on the brisket and if you didn’t already open it, something to be aware of.

If you like to track your cooks and make notes as I do, the graphs in this software do not save and do not continue if you close the app. Examples below. One time I changed the grill temp range and it starts over, another time I closed the app and it gets rid of the graph. Kind of a pain and should be an easy fix from the developer but not sure they will do it. Thermoworks has a few good thermometer options as well. I might pick one of those up to try too.

Thanks for the tip. That Inkbird should be here any day! Called to make sure there would be a brisket on hand too.
That would be frustrating to want to save some info and when you ose the app it's gone. Yeah hopefully there developers fix that software!

Where do you guys find your briskets? I can only seem to find huge ones that are $80. Just 2 of us eating them here.

I got this at Costco. It was $3.29 a pound and was 16.5 pounds. Just two of us too. You probably won’t find a full brisket much smaller than 14. You could get just the flat which would be a bit smaller.

I will take the leftovers for lunch this week and freeze some in vacuum pack containers. Throw it in the sous vide when I was leftovers. Tacos or sandwiches or whatever. It freezes well.

Good point on freezing it! I will have to grab one and try it.
