As mentioned if you run larger tires the full width can rub. With a shorty there's also less hanging out to catch when dropping off obstacles. If you're going to run flat or cut fenders, I personally think a shorty rear bumper looks the best. With full fenders they look a little weird, but not horrible. I absolutely love mine. Aesthetically pleasing, built like a tank, and so far don't have a single complaint after a year.
No problem! Glad the pics helped. It really is an awesome rear bumper. It was between this or going with the EVO carrier, but I wanted a little more protection for the traffic I deal with around here. No, the shackles didn't come with it. The tabs are welded on and ready, though.
