What was done to your rig this week?

Okay so after installing my 35's this week I realized there was some nasty rubbing on the rear of the rubi rails. So I decided to chop them down a couple of inches. This was before;

I marked the approximate location of the cut with tape:

I used a sawzall with a metal blade to chop it down (after removing the end caps):

Sanded and painted the edge to prevent rust:

After replacing the end caps with a little RTV Silicone much better clearance:

Then just for good measure I made sure there were no other issues to address after giving it a full tuck:

Nice job! Your jeep is looking great BTW!

Finished my DIY insta-trunk. Mostly wanted to keep prying eyes out of the back and have a sturdy deck to secure gear to.

Pretty productive unexpected off day! Topped off the oil and tranny fluid, wired up winch, pulled the line in under tension, tilted my rack back and anti-seized the bolts. (All during the kid's nap time)

Got another piece for my build, another month or two and I should have everything for phase 1. Then it's going to be a very busy weekend getting it all installed. I am still waiting on rear bumper and tire carrier and need to make up my mind on Nitto TGs or MGs and get them ordered.

I figured it was a good time to test my theory that one could make their own end caps out of the stock bumper when doing a stubby mod.. If I failed, it would be all good since my stinger had been ordered.. So here is my stock stubby that cost me 30 minutes and ZERO dollars....WIN.....ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1366670722.997951.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1366670745.167584.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1366670764.856271.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1366670798.035605.jpg

About to install my solid diff covers

Are they brand new and do you have a Rubi? I just ordered my Solid covers since they went on sale. There has been mention of the cover not clearing the locker on the Rubi, but another member stated they called Solid and they said they redesigned the cover and it now clears. Wanted to see if that was true or not.
