WAYALIFE Rockin Rubicon Run 2014 : June 15th - 17th

What's with this pic? Is Eddie waiting to jump out and scare Adam? :idontknow:

:cheesy:

Lol. I just thought it was a cool perspective showing Jeep, rocks and spotter.

Now that you say it, it does look like Eddie is hiding behind the rock to jump out. Ha ha.

Carnage in next post :naw:

Towards the top of Cadillac Hill we heard a nasty pop and discovered we broke our sector shaft.
ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1403493629.152537.jpg

We started pulling the steering box and drag link off of the knuckle.

When we discovered that the spare sector shaft Eddie was carrying didn't fit the Non-Delphi steering box, we had to reinstall the steering box to prevent steering fluid from spilling on the trail.

Eddie and Tony came up with a plan to get the trail cleared. They hooked a small shackle to my front knuckle and my winch line to that. I controlled the brakes/accelerator and they controlled the direction of the jeep. It worked well and we were able to get to the top of Cadillac Hill and clear the trail.

Once at the top, the rest of the group took off to pickup a steering box that was coming from Reno (thanks again MTG). We pulled the steering box and got everything ready for the new box.

At least we had some gorgeous scenery to admire while we waited...

Time to get it installed and get back to the hotel! But not without some rain during the install.

We made it back in time to enjoy some Rock Hard Wet Woodys! Thanks again Eddie, Cindy, Tony, Adam, Mike and everyone else!

So we finally made it home and I must say what an epic trip!
I only had a chance to edit a few photos and I'll be posting up a bunch this eve.
Here's a few of my rig ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1403544612.995987.jpg

The only real damage our Jeep had was both of my front Rock lights were smashed - I guess by the front tire articulation/stuffing.

So, I went to Wallyworld and bought their new style LED lights ($19 @ pair) and put them in this morning.

Good to go now.

Move the rock lights up. That same thing happened to a lot of people in the past. Happened to me that's why I relocated mine to a different spot.
