I've done imu's for 40 years...best pulled pork ever, hands down. We also throw turkeys in for thanksgiving, and try a couple chuck roasts to shred and throw in the freezer...makes killer chili

It's one of my favorite ways for pork. It's a fun way of cooking. I was going to do a turkey, but ended up deep frying.

There is a local landscape yard that sells decent basalt. For my banana leaves there is a Asian market I get them from.

I put one soaked in vegetable oil on the top, my rock layer over the coal bed was to thin I believe
Still came out awesome though
