If bombing across the desert is your idea of off-road fun, you really need a suspension system that can take the abuse of driving hard and fast over rough terrain and soak up the big hits that you're sure to get from taking on whoops. And, it's for this reason that Cindy and I decided to take our then, brand new Jeep JT Gladiator to Off Road Evolution and have them completely transform it with EVO long arms and a double throwdown suspension system. Unfortunately, at the time, this was only available for the front but now, they offer an awesome solution for the rear that compliments it perfectly - trailing arms!

As you may have seen on our recent SEMA video, this new trailing arm system does come complete with a new 40 gallon gas tank, a triangulated 4-link design and King 3.0 coilovers and triple bypass shocks. And, in this video, you'll get to see us testing it out for the very first time, out in the Mojave Desert and over some really big whoops.

Yeah, there’s no doubt! It looked really smooth for that speed! I feel that I bounce around more just going 25 on washboard forest roads! 😂
Too funny. And, not gonna lie, you can go scary fast in our Gladiator now - faster than I feel comfortable anyway and that's saying a lot.

That was awesome. The rear undercarriage shots (not what you're thinking) really show how well the bump stops were set. I kept picturing the rear axle coming up through the bed, Lol. That setup is sweet.

That is really amazing. I can see a real need for a cage, better supportive seats, and harnesses at those speeds (oh yeah, and a V8).

Any thoughts on how it will react once you start loading up the bed with camping stuff? I don’t know much about trophy trucks so I don’t know how much it throws everything off, if at all, when you start adding weight in the back.

LOL - Yes, the rear end is setup well. We went into the weekend fully anticipating that tuning would be needed but honestly, none was needed. That said and as much as I hate to admit it but I think we'll be installing a set of Currie Antirocks now. For this kind of hard and fast driving, a stiffer rear sway bar would be super nice to have and maybe something a bit softer up front as well and without having to disconnect.

Oh yeah, even at these speeds, you could really hurt yourself if something went wrong. And, even with the 3.6L, we could easily go a lot faster. A V8 would be stupid fun.

Weight in the back could actually help to balance things out more. If things are off, we can always make adjustments to the coilovers and bypass shocks to compensate for it.
