Time for a bumper!

Ok so here I am,

The other day I've bumped a tree on the end of my trimmed factory bumper, and it made me confused on my choice of bumper, 'cuz if I had the one I was looking for, the tree would have just hit the grill/fender/flare and hood, which could make a nice ride, the worst.

I wanted so much the poison spyder brawler lite with trail stinger, but it is stubby, even if they call it mid width.. So I decided to make my own design, inspired with the psc.

Total width is 58". I think it will turn out well, can't wait to start it

we'll probably use the same size PSC uses. And yes I thought about putting gussets too, but they're not on the plan. :thumb:

PSC use 1 3/4" DOM tubes with .120" wall for main stinger, and 1 1/4", .120 wall tubing for the gussets.

In my case, I think we'll use 1 3/4" on both main and gusset tubing, plus adding 3/16" gussets to the main loop and gusset tube as well.

It's gonna be made of 3/16" steel plate, bent, notched and lazer cut ;)

Ok guys, it's been a while since I made the 3D plan, but now it's starting for good!

Here's some pictures, from the start until now.

That said, I need suggestions for a name!

Name for your bumper or rig?

hum.. would say both xD

I thought about Semper fi for the jk, but for the bumper, I seriously have no idea.

I forgot to mention that this is a bumper built by my friend who have a fab shop, and will produce this model for sales, so It will need a name ^^ I took all the measurments and also did the 3D plan, so of course it's gonna be signed with my initials

I'd say The Punisher Mid-Width. Looks very punishing to anything that gets in its way. That's my vote.

haha well I don't really know about that. I am only the designer, but my bud told me he would probably offer it in DIY kit, and maybe also all welded but bare steel. I will suggest him the option to sell with or without the stinger.

Don't know either for the price, but IMO it would propably be around 5 or 600$ CAD. I'm going to tell him about this thread and show up if there is some interests :brows:

Well if I can choose between a guy trying to make an extra buck or start a business. I will go that route 10/10 times. When I get the cash I will shoot you a pm and see if your friend is interested.

ok so here's a small update! process is long since my friend had ordered some new tools and was waiting for them to arrive.

And the main loop bent, and dropped on top just to give an idea of what it will look like.

I ordered today a gator guard 2 paint kit. I will roll it, and paint over with industrial paint, or maybe flat black tremclad.

Can't wait to put it on the jk!! it's gonna be a badass bumper I guess

yeepee we're almost done now!! I picked up the bumper this afternoon, it is completely welded, just need to clean all the welds, sand properly, and paint it! A guy at the body shop at my job will paint it with undercoating gun either on monday or tuesday :thumb:

Here's a sneek peak, dark pics but it's late. better pics tomorrow.
