The Rebuild of Colojk

I was able to pick my Jeep up from Trail Jeeps tonight. I had 4.88 revolution gears installed and all I can say is wow! I am super happy with the results and I'm really happy I decided to pull the trigger on the regear. I know I have a dana30 in the front but after doing a lot of research and talking to Tim and Wes at TJ I decided that it was the right decision for me. A huge thank you to Trail Jeeps for once again doing a great job with my Jeep!

How do you like the 4.88 and 37s? If you were on a D40 would you do 5.13?

I can't speak to the 37s as I have 35s but so far it feels great. I have not driven on the highway yet with them though so I am itching to see how that feels. And yes I probably would've done 5.13 if I didn't have the dana30 in the front but regardless I don't regret waiting as I won't be able to upgrade that axle for a long time. I decided that when I do upgrade eventually I will just get the prorock with 4.88 so I will not need to regear the rear axle again.

Hahaha I am seriously considering running 37s on my d30 and just being careful. It's doable but it sounds risky

If saving for a PR44, I'd wait till you have 80% of the funds, then put the 37s on there and wheel it till it breaks. Once it does, pull the trigger on the new axle. Just have to be careful where you wheel it and make sure you can make it home.

Loving it. Haven't used it offroad yet (need a new DS first) and I don't have much to compare it to, but it rides much better than stock IMO and the stance is perfect. Just need to keep pinching pennies for 37s.

I am about 250 miles into the break in period on my new gears and they feel great! I am very happy that I decided to go ahead and swap my 3.21s for 4.88s!
