Suds of the Day

Stopped at total wine to stock up on vodka and honey. They had a bunch of tasting set up. Went for the pre-made Manhattan distilled here locally. Don't usually go for the pre-mixed stuff, but this was pretty good.

Nice! Cool bar top!

Failed to take a pic... Was at the North Peak Brewing Company for dinner last night, in Traverse City, Michigan. While I've tried some of their bottled offerings before, like the Diabolical IPA, beers on tap were a bit more interesting. They had a Cask Ale, Willemette Valley Red Ale, that I tried....'twas the first time I've seen a cask ale offered like this. Bartender seemed to get a good workout pulling the pint I ordered, and while I was hesitant to try a non-carbonated beer served at cellar temp (50*), it did not disappoint. Bit of a bite when it first hit the tongue, but really mellowed out almost instantly into a smooth tasty brew. I drink a beer slow (a beer that arrives shortly after I sit down will usually be finished as I'm paying the bill), which typically allows me to enjoy the change in flavors as temp increases...this Ale was very consistent.

In short: good stuff.

Cheers to everybody...rocking a nice Wit - Blanche made in my native land of upstate NY with some Blanton's in a snifter..... ahhh doesn't get much better. Crappy phone pics for the lose.... so I won't post them.

Everyone enjoy their Tuesday!

Great Divide Ramble-oak aged IPA almost finished and looks tiny next to my Sandwich.
