For the most part no hotel cares about your vehicle or bother spending money to put cameras in parking lots. Good to hear you had your camera and iPad on you and didn't have them stolen. People suck. Make sure anytime you stay somewhere to bring in all your valuables.

This is true. Hotels put up signs in the event something happens to your car. While there might be cameras, it won't be high def and you probably won't get anywhere with the footage.

Best way to avoid a break in at a hotel is to not leave anything visible. Hide everything and don't drive a Dodge Charger, Chevy Impala/ suburban/ siverado, or ford f series trucks.
