So what is the purpose of a locker?

Your Jeep has a differential that allows your wheels to turn at different speeds such as when you're turning. Off road, this can be a problem when one tire has traction and the other does not. In that event, all the power goes to the wheel that is spinning and you aren't able to move forward. A locker literally connects both sides of your axle so that both wheels have power even if one side has no traction. Does this make sense?
