During some clean up I found a pice of hardwood, that turned out to be walnut. So I made a handle for one of my axes. This one is going to just hang on the wall now.

I keep looking at these because you can have them built like you want.

Any good? Or just a looker not a user?
I’m hesitant to carry it around, because I’m hard on knifes typically and I prefer fixed blades. I have used it for light stuff. It seems really well made though. Nice weight for its size and comfortable to hold.

Go with Strider. Expensive, yes. It’s a tool tho. Not just a knife.

What’s up guys, it’s been a minute.
I just picked up this gerber machete yesterday, in hopes of replacing my old no name one. I’m very disappointed in the quality. I mainly use them to limb tree branches around the property and preparing to chip. I was cutting 1/4-3/4 oak limbs this afternoon and….

Damn.... thats crap steel. Can't go wrong with an ESEE.. a little pricey but 1095 Steel, lifetime warranty and built like a tank.

I’ll look into one of those! Thanks for the recommendation! They are super useful when they are made right.
It’s almost like this blade wasn’t hardened and tempered. I’m going to see if they will do anything about it also.

I've owned several Gerber products over the years with no issues but I've always been sceptical of that machete. Seems like I always see it near the registers near the trinket gauntlet. I hope they take care of it for you.
