Two posts that aren’t political in nature…there’s hope for you yet…
Actually, there have been a few more than just two.
My Interest in bluegrass and "mountain" music began when I was very young. I'm actually a third cousin to David Akeman, aka "Stringbean". Probably best known for HeeHaw appearances in later years, he was also Bill Monroes banjoist in the 1940s. Replaced by Earl Scruggs and his three finger picking style.
Granddad grew up with him. My Mom was very familiar and was born in the same town.
My Grandma, who never really showed grief outwardly, I remember, did so on the news he and his wife were murdered in 1973. I was with her at the time and I was 13.

I enjoyed the “pickin’ & grinning’ Heehaw show when I was a kid…and do enjoy bluegrass still…especially dobro & lap steel…
