pros and cons of 373 Vs 410 gears

I am looking at new jeeps argh!!! and I test drove the new recon today with 373 gears and then a rubicon with 410 gears It seemed like there was more power available with the 410 but just barely ? seat of the pants feel ... so is there any advantage to a 373 gear set. what if I plan to goto a lightly larger tire say a 315 70 17 ? and how about for towing?

I als was wondering if I can squeeze 315 in there with out a lift but just spacers? what do you think?

If your gonna upgrade to a 315 70 (essentially 35") I would definitely go with the 4.10's
I ordered my jku with 4.10's and really liked it with 35's
 
A 315 is essentially a 37. That's a big tire. I would get 3.73 and research before you get those tires. Not to mention you're going to need a lot more than what you have listed to do it right.

Well the 34.4 is actual tire size. Take an actual tire size of a 35 and a 37 and tell me which one is closer. I know the correct answer but you could learn from the experience.
 
Don't mind Overlander, he is used to driving bald tires so he thinks they are all a size smaller. [emoji6]
 
My 315 Duratracs measured under load (ground to center of centercap x 2) is 33.5". Measuring to the lug you'll get around 34.X but that isn't an accurate measurement really.
 
My previous 2012 manual Rubicon had 4.10's. When I bought my 2015 automatic Rubicon I was happy to have it with 3.73's. My 2012 was left stock and I had intended to leave the 2015 stock also. But the bug bit. I now have 315's on it and while the 3.73's aren't horrible, I wish now that I had the 4.10's on it for that little extra.
 
A year ago when I set out to buy my new JKR 4:10s were on the must have list....I had a few to choose from in ended up passing on the one with3:73 and a dual tops. I took the hard top only and 4:10s. It's easier to buy and add a softtop.

The 2016 JK is an auto with 315 70 17s Mickey MTZ P3, mounted on 17x9 wheels, aired to 29psi cold. The measure 33.75". 2.5" lift and bumpers.

Coming from an 08 with an auto and 3:73 and 33s, I'm very happy with my new JK. I'm not a speedy demon, but it has the pick up and gogo the old 08 didn't.

Similar story here. Ordered 2015 with 3.73 and ended up on 315's which is ok here in the flatlands but should have gone 4.10 from factory - upgrade now is quite expensive
