For those of you who've watched our latest video, you know that Cindy and I finally broke down and bought Pippi a new set of shoes - a set of 285/70R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers! After testing them out on JET, we found them to be great daily driver tires that are super quiet on the highway, provide measurably better MPG or at least, when compared to a mud terrain and yet, they still hooked up great on the trail and even on the rocks. I do need to note that we purposefully got these in a Load Range C and mainly because ride comfort was more important to us than sidewall strength and I have to say, I'm really glad we did. The ride on these are just as smooth as her old street tires were. Anyway, now that the video has been up for a while, I figured it'd be nice to post up some after shots of what she looks like with her new shoes on.

Being that we gave our old Gladiator tires to our son, we didn't have a set of Rubicon take offs to work with but we did keep the wheels. And, I will have to say that we really like the Gladiator ones better anyway. Granted, we did have to buy one extra wheel being that the spare was just a steelie.

With the addition of her new Rubicon steel front stubby bumper and new Ridge Grapplers, Pippi really does look like a brand new Jeep!

Pippi is a damn fine machine. I've been following her progress because, as you stated in the video thread, you drive her off-road until a need or want for an upgrade is identified. In this case, Pippi was driven on the trail until the limits of the OEM tires was reached. I've got a friend who just bought a stock 2018 JK and is new to Jeeps and offroading. I've been intending to explain to him that as he gains experience, the first equipment limitation he'll run into is his street tires and he'll know when he reaches that point.

Pippi's progress is the perfect example to point my friend to as to what to upgrade when.

Thank you for choosing to follow this path.

Really amazing how nice the wheels and tires look. What about the Speedo? Did you tell the computer you have bigger tires?
