Not impressed by the "huge" infotainment display and the added AC duct. In the off-road Jeep world, less is more. At least they did not go "Full Tesla" with it.

Jeep continues to fail to address the needs of off-roaders. The main benefit of the large infotainment display seems to be for cell-phone driven features. But it should not be necessary to use a cell phone to have access to off-road maps and land use information.

It is silly to have to buy another device (where to put it now?) in order to make up for the lack of functionality which comes with the Jeep.
I disagree with you. It’s wireless apple car play. Your apple phone has way more support if you have a problem with an app than you would get for Mopar. With a bigger screen that means the map that you download to you phone will be bigger. Once again wireless CarPlay means less wires. It’s just better all around. And these days who doesn’t have a smart phone? How else would you watch porn while camping?

I have zero desire to have a computer screen on the dash of my offroad vehicle.

Seriously. Fuck that. I go Jeeping to get away from that shit. It's too much. The interior is starting to look like a Land Rover or Tesla. But there are some that hang 12" Ipads off their Dash... so there's that.

If the infotainment screen was based on Android and it is possible to add popular Android apps such as supporting off-road maps, would that help?

What’s the part # for the filter ? Mines got the K&N like to pick one of these up
Spectre 8136, yours is a K&N RF-1033. The K&Ns are washable but they are really expensive now 🤑. The Spectres say they are rewashable too but I havent tested that. We always just got new spectres when they got dirty.

Now that EJS is over I wanted to provide a couple of recommendations for anyone who has never been to EJS but has wanted to go.

First off, stop procrastinating and go!

It’s a great time and Moab is an unbelievable place. You will enjoy the wheeling and the amazing amount of cool Jeeps, as well as various other 4x4’s. In addition the hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the area are amazing.

Lodging: from primitive camping to condos and everything in between. Make your lodging reservations EARLY. I book lodging a year out.

Make sure your Jeep is well maintained and equipped. It’s important that you know how to work everything on it to include recovery equipment. It’s amazing how many individuals don’t know their rig or how to use their recovery gear.

The simple truth is you don’t need a maxed out rig to have fun. A bone-stock Jeep is still a great time and there are trails of all levels of difficulty so don’t put off your trip because you don’t think your rig is ‘built’ enough.

If you go by yourself sign up for some organized EJS trails, you will meet fellow Jeepers and make friends that you can wheel with later in the week. Also the EJS/ Red Rock 4-Wheeler Trail guides are a great source of Moab history and can tell you all about the various trails.

The vendor show is interesting and a good half day or so break from the trail. Of course there is the vendor show raffle and those who are lucky can win som impressive prizes.

I had a great time this year and I am already counting down to EJS 2024.

👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
