Jeep vs Sports Car

I lack self control with the skinny pedal, so cars with big muscle would be big trouble for me. I'd like to get something slow and economical again just so that I can drive it like its stolen without drawing the attention of red & blue strobes... Maybe an SX4, Fit, Dart, or Focus.

Ultimately, should the Challenger ever be offered as a convertible, we'd probably get one. Would be nice looking next to the 70 Plum Crazy R/T Convertible that my wife owns...

I drive my wife's BMW from time to time and although its not a typical sports car, it has A LOT of power. Matter of fact it kicks tail. Anyone who has driven or owned one could attest.

Good, now I don't feel so crazy! I do miss the power of my cobra, but it was only a matter of time before I got in trouble with it. I think I miss the sound the most...:rolleyes2:

You thought about the Toyota/Subaru Fr-S/Brz? They aren't going to blow any doors off, but are actually tuned to be driven like they go fast (my friend with the Fr-S loves it)

Personally... I got the new US-friendly GTR in my long range sights:-D

I traded in my MB SLK55 for the '13 JKUR, I sometimes miss being able to put the top down in 22 seconds, and spinning the tires while doing 40-50 mph... But I'm really looking forward to outfitting my jeep and having some great times!

I have owned MANY cars, trucks and sports bikes. While they are fun and serve their own purpose, I'll take a Jeep any day! There are no other, or very few, brands that you can see its past(aesthetically OR mechanically) in every generation of the vehicle! :yup:

That's why I had to sell mine. It was too easy to get into trouble with it. From doing things exactly like this video. It's not my car, this one has a Kenne Bell 2.2L twinscrew, mine had a Whipple 2.3@17psi, then a Kenne Bell 2.8H on 17psi(pump gas tune) and 23psi(110 octane tune). My car with the Kenne Bell 2.8H@17psi pulled slightly harder than the car in this video, and way harder on the 23psi tune. The sound was the best part! The whine of a Kenne Bell twinscrew is one of the best sounds in the world IMHO.

Funny. People always cracking on the imports. I was a big push rod guy, my dad and uncle are both hot rod junkies. I got into imports because something new. Everyone laughed at me. :)

They stopped laughing when I would run them down. :D.

1900 pound car. 304hp on pump gas, 75 wet shot on top, Made a lot of people cry. I enjoyed my crx. But theirs a lot of BS that comes with imports.
I do miss my 65 nova though. :(

Really respect what those cars offer, but prefer a 5 door option right now...would be nice to have the space for the family on short trips.

I can appreciate that... A good 5 door option is the Porche Cayenne... You can pick a late model up for 20-35k... Won't be the Turbo, but sounds like a good mix of 5 door with sports car ^.^

Debadged MB E63 AMG...the ultimate sleeper grocery getter. LOL!

The best of both worlds , I have a JKUR , but we all know they are gutless , so I got this. 383 stroker , 550 h/p , Dart block , vic. jr. intake , trick flow alum. heads , holley 750 h/p series carb , msd ignition , blaster coil , etc. So much fun !

Man, I have been lurking in this thread since it started. I cannot even compare the joy I get from my jeep to the joy other rides I have owned provided. I have always owned an Offroad rig while owning one of these. They are at completely different ends of the spectrum! No comparison.
1) Z06 Corvette 630hp/700+ftlbs TQ 2) Superformance MKIII Cobra 600hp/575ftlbs TQ 3) BMW B7 Alpina 590hp/615ftlbs TQ
