Since a couple of month, some of you knows, that I had some kind of problems with my jk. Cought a lemon I guess.. 2012 2 door sport, 6 speed manual.
it started with a weird crack from the rear, drivetrain maybe? then a spring sound when I press/depress the clutch followed by a rolling bearing sound when the clutch is fully pressed escorted by a weird clok-clok when the throw-out bearing moves.
Then fall arrived and no fuckin heat on driver side, got heater core replaced, they found nothing in the coolant. It fixed the problem but this week I found casting sand in my overflow tink, so monday they're gonna do a chemical flush.
I also have a CEL with code P0116 ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE. When CEL light up, the cooling fan starts WOT and temperature gauge falls to cold. Then I turn the key off and back on, and it comes back to normal but CEL stays on. It is intermittent. It seems that CEL turns off when outside temp. is above -20 celsius approx. They replaced the ECT sensor, guessing it was the problem. Without even doing a complete diag. I guess. But it didn't make it. The CEL turned on again the next day.
All this together with the fact that I might have moved too fast when I bought mine, the fact that I'm tired of driving manual... makes me think that I would like to make a move for a 2013 JKUR, automatic, sometimes in the next year. I know I would lose big money, we talk about 10 to 12 000$ between what they could give me at the dealer for my 2012 and what's left to pay on my loan.
I thought about this in the last couple days, and would have couple options.
#1 ; get the money to start all over again, pay the 10 000$ difference, and give my 2012 to the dealer and get a 2013 jkur.
#2 ; Pay mine off, then sell it or give it in exchange to the dealer, which would give me about half of the price of the jkur. So it would cost me about 50% less. ie : if I sell it 20 000$ next year, and the jkur cost 42 000$. With 20 000 cash down it drops to 22 000$ loan.
Option #2 is my best bet I guess.
What I would like to get is :
2013 Dozer JKUR
automatic trans.
black leather heated seats
430N radio with nav.
remote start
and maybe half doors
soft top only.
What would you guys do?
