Cliff jumping in Moab

A couple of years ago we had some members from our club looking for a rush in Moab. They wrapped a tow strap around their waist and hooked their winch to the strap. They would lean over the cliff then winch themselves back in, without any issues. This year we had another guy that wanted to give it a try.

No he meant to just lean over the cliff to get a better view. He was suppose to be stiff legged but as you could see he bent them a lot. He lost his balance or his brain and fell off.

It's one thing to "rappel" down, if you know how to do it, etc, but to jump with nothing but a static line, you can count yourself in on the Moron list.. a 10-15 foot drop with break all your ribs when the line comes taught..
