Ouch that's a bad one! Looks like it sheered right of and I'm sure the sub zero temperatures played a part in it. Upgrade time!

RVC shafts are in the future, just replaced with a set of stock ones to keep me moving for now.

The thing that bothers me about RCV shafts is it moves the weak link to the R&P. That's not really a trail fix.... At least when a shaft goes you can remove it and wheel out.

Caught the Bug
The cold could have defenitly played a part. If I remember correctly torsional strength of most materials is affected by temperature. If it was already fatigued get it "real" cold and its just plain weaker. Or technically I think it becomes more brittle.
