Behind the tail lights, you need to splice into the white wire with the grey stripe.

This ought to help out. Instructions for the JKS license plate light install. This goes to the brake light, not the reverse light so you'll want a different wire to splice into (apparently the white wire with grey stripe according to Frydaddy)
