Back from deployment

BABOOZLE

Caught the Bug
So I recently got back from my 6 month deployment. This has been my third deployment on board USS Nimitz. We spent over three months over in the Arabian Gulf supporting forces in the Middle East for Operation Inherent Resolve. This was not my best deployment because we spent so much time at sea and the port calls could have been better. Plus we were in the Gulf during the summer so temperatures on the ship were over 100 degrees with temperatures ranging from 125-145 degrees in the propulsion plant and flight deck. Seawater inlet temperature was 100 degrees so we were just floating in a giant bath tub the whole time. The average weight loss was 20-30 lbs due to the constant sweating. For port calls we hit Chennai, Bahrain, Dubai, Anchored at Sri Lanka but never got off, Pearl Harbor, San Diego and home in Bremerton, Wa. I'm glad to be home and proud of being able to support the troops doing the real work on the beach. Here's a few photos. IMG_4779.jpgIMG_4588.jpgIMG_4603.jpgIMG_4597.jpgPassing Singapore. IMG_4624.jpgIndia. Don't think I would ever visit there again. Cars drive on both sides of the road and yielding is not a concept. Complete chaos. IMG_4625.jpgIMG_4569.jpgLove the deep blue out here. Welcome home. Of all the things I miss from the Navy, it's being out in the pond under a clear sky with the stars shining down and a salty spray that I miss the most.
