Frank here. I’m about 3 months into a Sahara 4xe, and totally loving it. I’m hardly a hardcore rock crawler, and the Sahara is a daily driver, but I have taken the truck up Peters Mill Run in the Blue Ridge, and it was a blast. I love the YouTube channel, and I look forward to learning more here. Eventually making some mild upgrades over time, and doing more wheeling occasionally.
In 1997 I factory-ordered a base-model Wrangler, sight unseen, with the 4 cylinder engine and an automatic tranny…and hated every minute of that 3 year lease. Underpowered, and wobbly, stressful highway handling. (But fantastic in Northeast snow….) What a night/day difference to a modern Wrangler, eh? The power from the 4xe is fantastic and the handling is quite respectable.
