Like so many companies these days, Rugged Ridge was bought out last year by an even bigger company, Truck Hero and I have to say that these kind of acquisitions kind of bum me out. Where there was once a host of companies at SEMA jockeying for prime real estate in the south hall, there are now only a handful with mega displays. The primary company dominates the floor and their newly acquired smaller companies get relegated to side booths. Rugged Ridge used to have pretty big display and with lots of products to show but now, they share their space with Superlift. But, I suppose that's just how the cookie crumbles.
With all that said, I was glad to see that my friend Patrick was still working there and that he's still having a great time developing new products for the JL Wrangler. In addition to light protectors, rock doors, side steps, bumpers and a tire carrier all made specifically with the JL in mind, you'll be interested to know that he's also developing a 100% bolt on snorkel that requires no drill or cutting and installs in about an hour! Also, if you're like me - someone who wants to trim their fenders but want to keep their lights, he's even working on a kickass solution for that.
