Lol. I meant with the new posts. They make these sleeve/bracket things that sit above ground to prevent rot.No. Digging out old posts (and concrete balls) and replacing with new posts. I’m harder than I am smart.

I've never lived at a place long enough to see what works, lol. But I've pulled many decades old posts and they all rot right at the same spot.Thank you Sir!

Oh man, I really hate when people do that! Just dig an appropriate deep hole and sink in a proper size post. Wooden ones like this ALL go bad eventually and WILL need to be replaced. The concrete just makes life shitty in the future. The old posts are concreted in so when the post breaks at the ground level there is still a 3-ft diameter ball of concrete underground that needs to be broken into pieces or dug out. Where is the TNT or dynamite when you need it? Gonna need to drink the whiskey to kill the rotator cuff pain tonight.

Yup, every single one was rotted in the same place. I just thought it was from over aggressive weed-wacking while drinking.
Yup - did the same the first go round. We did about 300 posts back when I as slightly younger & thought that shit was fun….the thought of doing that now with a tractor with those shitty hydraulics…..barfAfter digging posts and pulling fence at our last place using an old ford 8n and a post hole digger I’d rent a skid steer with a post hole attachment. You can get it all done in no time.
Yeah, I can almost remember those days when hard work was fun too. Sucks getting old .Yup - did the same the first go round. We did about 300 posts back when I as slightly younger & thought that shit was fun….the thought of doing that now with a tractor with those shitty hydraulics…..barf

But then, you're the one who has to deal with it now and not the previous owner so what do they care. Maybe you should do the same for the next guy
What kinds?Got 18 fruit and nut trees planted over the last couple weeks. I think that’ll do for this year. Maybe skip next year and add some more year after.

Everything. Apple (three or four kinds), pear, peach, plum, cherry, fig, hazelnut, pecan, chokeberry. That might be it.What kinds?
Interesting, never heard of chokeberry, had to look it up. Sounds like it’s pretty beneficial.Everything. Apple (three or four kinds), pear, peach, plum, cherry, fig, hazelnut, pecan, chokeberry. That might be it.
Me either. Tennessee does a tree sale every year. You can buy trees and they are dirt cheap. Like $2. They didn’t have what we ordered this year because the trees didn’t do well so the substitute was choke berry.Interesting, never heard of chokeberry, had to look it up. NICE!! A tractor would have definitely helped make this a bit easierWhen does the tractor show up? Got half the garden beds in today. About 6.5 yards of compost moved by hand into my gorilla cart and then unloaded. At least I could pull the cart with the mower. Luckily my brother was here to help. The rest we can do tomorrow. Between the rows will be wood chips to keep the weeds at bay.
