Texas checking in

After a 10 year layoff to raise some kiddos, I'm looking to get back into a Jeep. My first car was a '92 YJ. Later my wife and I bought and built an '01 TJ. Sold it a few years later with much regret.

We're on the hunt for our next Jeep and we're considering a 4-door since wee can fit all three kiddos in the back seat. I've been a fan of 4x4xplor.com from way back and thought I'd get plugged in over here.

LOL - no way, 4x4xplor?? That's awesome!! Great to have you here :)
heck yeah, a ton of my build was inspired from all the writeups and reviews. I never could have done the SYE without it.

Welcome from Detroit

nothing better than having a jeep you can take your kids out to explore in. I definitely recommend a 4 door.

Thanks for the encouragement. Its taken me a long time to come around to the idea. For most of my life, TJ=best jeep. Maybe I'll have one again someday, but for now, I think you're right. Get something the whole family can enjoy.

I swear, I've read every page of that website. I was 25 and new to Jeep building and your site gave me confidence to do-it-myself on so many projects. SYE, CB antenna mount, homemade disconnects, basic alignment, aussie locker, radiator replacement, hand throttle, speedo gear ... the list goes on. You sold me on the shorty LOD front bumper too. So yeah, big fan over here.

And all before social media and YouTube! Awesome 🤪

Now that is one hell of a TJ! Welcome to Wayalife from SoCal!
Thanks! I miss it dearly. I swapped in a set of 04 rubi d44s and it was pretty much perfect.

Fun story: I was able to track it down over the weekend. Its been sold again and now lives in Tulsa. The guy has done an LS swap, Atlas case and *stretched* it 15" to an LJ size. His build thread is on Jeep Forum under Catmechanic's TJ6 build.

Small world in the Jeep family.

Just an FYI, it’s frowned upon to link another forum, you may want to edit that and take it out.

The solution is a TJ for you and a TJ for the kids. Put the two TJs on a trailer and tow it with a big truck. Problem solved. When the kids are older ditch the trailer and the truck. 😄

Some people called "enforcers" here will claim that it is not allowed to mention that other internet spaces exist. They refer to the rules, which they have apparently not read because the rules don't quite say that. The rules say you are not allowed to peddle your wares. Regardless it is best if everything is posted here and not referred to.
