I could've sworn I saw a thread on this but I couldn't find it. I have a trip up to the mountains at the end of April and I wanted to get my quad tuned up and painted right. Here it is as I started pulling it apart. I pulled the plastics off and I'm gong to repaint them. . I also pulled the headlight so I could find a small led bar that fits in between the bracket.
I also got the front plastics curing tonight and I'm going to do the rest tomorrow. The clear coat for the plastic is only good for a day once I add the hardener so I have to do all of the color tomorrow and the clear coat tomorrow night.
I have had a bunch of ATVs over the years. Like fourteen of them + dirt bikes and 3-wheelers. I started the kids on dirt bikes at the age of 3 and they basically grew up with dirt bikes and atvs. I used to teach atv safety classes, lead the group rides for the Michigan ATV Association and would plan guided trips in WV, TN, and KY. I would take up to 20 people at a time from Michigan and go down south and ride in the mountains. I sold one of my Polaris Sportsman atv with over 13,000 miles on it.
I kinda got out of it as the kids grew up and moved on. Still have a Can AM Outlander 450, to use around the property and plow snow. and with the kids gone the wife wanted a SxS so we ended up with a Can Am maverick 1000r. It has been a lot of fun.
My bud and I went for a week long ride in the Black Hills of SD just after I retired.
My wife is fearless and I don't know why she likes riding with me because I do this to her all the time with the Maverick 1000r
Here she is all done. Loading up tonight and heading out tomorrow morning. Much needed break from all the bullshit in the last week. Blown up Grand Cherokee and wrangler that won't start. I'm currently driving a buddies 85 d150 and I'm probably going to buy it off of him. No electronics to fail seemed like a solid deal.
