That’s real world since the day I picked it up with 15 miles on the Odom. Crazy. So hard not to drive the JL all the time.

Here and there. Drove the JK to the airport this morning. Is that love. Lol.

Thanks.

Yea I’m sure that’ll do, the more trail season comes around I’m sure it’ll get out more

I’d like to get out in both/either Jeep really. Work and kids have been consuming just about any time I have lately. Hopefully that will ease up.
Yeah I understand that. Went to start mime last weekend and it was dead..haha. Got some jump start love and driven to work a couple days.

One of the first free weekend days we’ve had in a LONG time. Made use of it and the great weather to get out in the rookie.

Our JL had just about 1200 miles when we set out mid morning. The goal I had in mind was to hit the same “first” trail we did back in 2012 in our new JK. So off we went out to lake elsenor to hit the south main divide trail system. Unfortunately, we soon enough learned it closed in late 2013.

So, hell bent on hitting a little dirt, we crossed back over the main hwy to check out north main divide. Unfamiliar with north divide, we noticed a quick turn off to dirt. This ended up being the el cariso truck trail. Exploring we went.

This guy made the shelf road trail way harder than it needed to be. [emoji33]

Does this count as rock crawling?

Fairly simple dirt road that wasn’t too long. Parts were made fun with smallish run off ruts. The JL made it all a piece of cake.

But what would the day be without the perfect retro flashback picture. Here’s our first dirt pic from 2012, followed by one from today. The kids were good sports. Lol.

It's amazing how quickly they grow...a couple more eye blinks and you will be touring college campuses (I'm doing that right now)...

However, they both need to learn how to shaka 🤙...

Are you going to “recreate” driving around on pavement in four low with the new one? Wasn’t that you? :cheesy:

Lol, god that trip sucked!!! Everyone left after eating dinner and my lockers were jammed. I wasn’t in four low though. But I did drive that way to the dealer. They replaced the rear axle. Good times. [emoji23][emoji23]

No shit. They’re starting high school after summer. [emoji30] Oddly enough my son and I both wore Maui built shirts today.

I got one Shaka for you. We always throw shakas. 🤙

Thanks. I asked if we could do it again in another 5 years. They weren’t too sure. Lol.

Looks like a good first trip. I hear you about “finding the time”. I hate to say it, but it’s only going to get worse next year once the kids are in high school. Sports, clubs, volunteering and school functions will jam pack your calendar. My life is crazy and I only have one.

Took longer than expected or I wanted, but was a great day.

Nice Jason! Looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves

Yup. Was a blast.

Oh we are bracing for business of epic proportions. The activities alone are bonkers....then throw academics on top of it. No resting!!

I’ll need to make the most of any wheeling opportunities that come available.

Hmmm. Seeing some differences back here between the JL and the JK. Early stages of a summer prep project.

Clearances are a little different on the tailgate and will be a tighter fit for the ARB.
