Your other ride!

Made a deal with my wife when my daughter was born that if I sold my Harley Davidson (pictured below) I could buy a JKU and do whatever I wanted to it. As much as I miss my Harley, the decision was a no brainer that I have never regretted. These pictures below are all I have left my black beauty!

Funny side note, I sold the bike the same day I put it on Craigslist, sight unseen, to a Russian businessman who immediately shipped it back to Moscow. Apparently, Harley Davidsons are a hot commodity in Russia and extremely hard to get for any kind of reasonable price. Pretty strange picturing my loud American-made Harley Davidson blasting through the streets of Moscow.

I have always said that when I get a bike it would be all blacked out...that thing is sweet!

Thanks man! I put quite a bit of work into that bad boy to get it all blacked out like that. Luckily, a lot of the major components came black (ie engine), but I did everything else from the exhaust to leather wrapped fork covers. I certainly miss her. However, my JK is my new baby that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Gotta love the Narragansett towers in the background there. The all black is different from most harley's and it looks sweet!

Thanks a lot! I used to love cruising back roads down to 'Gansett. I'm more of a mountain guy, but if you're into beautiful coastline and scenic drives, there is absolutely no better place than southern Rhode Island.

Couple pics of the other shit in my garage...

Then the reason I am here in the first place.

God that bike is sweet! First thing I'd get if divorce was in my future! A couple of guys at work are almost begging me to get a bike so I can do some riding with them during the season, but the problem is that their wives don't work as a radiologic technician in the ER. She sees a lot of motorcycle wrecks so she put her foot down to me owning one even though I grew up riding dirt bikes and quads. Maybe one day in 30+ years when I'm retired, I'll talk her into it. For now, the JK with the top and doors off is as close as I'll get to the motorcycle experience. Oh yeah, I'm not posting a pic of her CR-V in this thread!!!:grayno:

We want some CRV pics!!! :cheesy:

I completely understand your wife's concern. Motorcycles are incredibly dangerous. Regardless of how much experience riding you have there is always some douchebag in a car texting while driving 75 mph down the interstate. No small accidents on a bike. I certainly loved that bike but I will gladly wait on buying another one until my daughter is grown up and she and my wife don't rely on me for everything. This is just me, but I just felt a bit selfish gambling with my life and my family's livelihood simply to go for a joyride every now and then. I completely understand if most people don't agree with that, just how I feel. My Jeep fits much more comfortably into my life since I became a father 4 years ago.

Well said! I feel the same way man. Have an 18 month old daughter and I wouldn't change a thing about my life at this point. Sold all of my toys shortly after marriage 5 years ago because I knew that children were in my future. My JK is my only toy at this time, but I spend enough money on it, I'm glad I don't have any other toys because I'd have to split my extra $$$ up between all of them. Planning on paying the Jeep off and getting her a new car, then I'm selling the CR-V to buy a 2wd GM late model truck to turn into a performance street truck. All hopes and dreams!!!:thumb:

Couldn't agree more with you on that, 1a and Ocean road in the summer are perfect for cruising. I went to URI for awhile and had a couple buddies live less than a mile from the gansett beach
