Just ordered a scan tool for the day it happens dealer charges $195 diagnostic fee can’t do much without a good scanner these days .

I'm about to do the same. What scanner did you buy if you don't mind me asking? I have looked into the Horrid Fraught scanners but thats about it.

I like the Autel brand off Amazon, I have an older unit I bought for my 2010 JKU, it has ABS auto bleed.
With the 2018 JLU, upgraded to the Autel MaxiCOM MK900, pricey but it's come in very handy with all the bullshit on this Jeep and it also supports the JK.
Whatever you get, make sure it supports your year make and model, and look at the diagnostics it offers.
I bought one for the JLU prior to this one and it offered some support but none of the advanced diagnostics this unit does

I do like the amenities and some of the creature comforts that the electronics provide but being a mechanic it makes them a pain to work on at times especially trying to track down an intermittent short. So it has its advantages and disadvantages and when things are working they are working great but when they ain’t it’s torture.

I can't remember which thread the SDI E-click guy was in arguing in favor of that system. BUT...just a gripe, I have that system on my F350. Worked great for 2 years and all of a sudden yesterday I have an error code. Now I need to check voltage at the shock, then check voltage at the ECU connection, then potentially send ECU into the manufacturer. None of which tells me what the issue is and when it will be fixed and at what cost.

Awesome setup for plush suspension when it's working but when electronics/technology fails, it sucks.

I'm in the "Hate It" category.

Not really bringing anything new that hasn't been said already, but give me a good hydraulic or mechanical system over electronically controlled gizmos any day.

Too much to go wrong, too complicated. Now if they made it as reliable as the electronics in most airliners, I would reconsider.

The TJ was the most high tech Jeep I would own again, just easier to fix and get parts for, and not too many electronic things to fail. I was looking for one, but used prices are crazy. Now I'm in a YJ, carbureted and virtually no electronics. Of course, my everyday driver is a 24 Tacoma, just a driving computer. I do enjoy the conveniences that make long drives more comfortable. At least if I break the YJ, I just stick it on the garage and just have to turn some wrenches to get it back on the road or trail.
