I was telling Alex the other day how pissed some people have to be, who paid 110k for “not so final” edition hahaBTW, I am soooooo glad that I didn't buy into the "final edition" nonsense and buy one at a stupid premium.
Gladiator sales have been dropping steadily since it's release in 2021 and to the point where only 42k of them were sold last year. This year is looking even worse and this in spite of the price cuts they've been offering.
Ugh.BTW, I am soooooo glad that I didn't buy into the "final edition" nonsense and buy one at a stupid premium.
LOL - you assume these overly plastic computers on wheels will still be running by then. Not gonna lie, I really have my doubts.
Seriously. That’s kinda the only draw to them for me. In 20, 30 years you’ll see a Gladiator go by and tell yourself. “Holy shit! Look at that ugly Jeep Truck! You never see them anymore.”
“Oh wow, it’s a Rubicon with a Hemi”
Or at least that’s what I say when I see MJ’s cruising around. lol
Buying a 392 Wrangler is one thing. The Wrangler all on its own is an off road vehicle like no other in it's class and WITH a big V8, I had to have one. Paying $100k or more for a mid-size pickup with a useless bed and just because it has a V8 and when I could get a TRX or something really useful like a RAM 2500 that has 430 HP and 1075 ft. lbs. of torque instead. Yeah, that's kind of a no brainer for me.Ugh.
Not even a final edition but the msrp on my ‘24 was beyond stupid.
Couldn’t imagine paying a mark up
LOL - seriously! And, don't get me wrong, I own 2 of them for a reason.Calling a gladiator a pickup is a bit of a stretch in my book. I say it’s a wrangler with a big ass.

We have been looking for a new vehicle and this is my biggest gripe. It’s no bigger inside than a wrangler and a couple car seats are rough in there. It has the dumbest bed size and can’t haul anything. I’d like one but it’s kind of pointless.Calling a gladiator a pickup is a bit of a stretch in my book. I say it’s a wrangler with a big ass.
I have one, about to not have one; bought it to haul junk but it doesn't hold much, and I end up making multiple trips or renting a trailer (I can tow the trailer with the JLU)We have been looking for a new vehicle and this is my biggest gripe. That's what I'm thinking. I know my 2020 Gladiator is highly modified and so I've had issues with the electronics but even the OE stuff is all starting to show it's age. Dumb things like interior trim and even paint and I always make sure to keep my rigs clean and garaged.Oh. Lol
They absolutely won’t be around. These pieces of shit are barely going to make it be ten years old in most cases. And those are the ones that arnt daily/commuters.
In some sways, it's smaller than a Wrangler or at least, if you don't use the bed as a truck/cargo hold. That said, the biggest selling point for a Gladiator is that they are a LOT cheaper than a comparable Wrangler and for that, I see them like Sharkey as just being big Wranglers. Otherwise, they are for the most part useless. Fun for sure, as a big Wrangler and I would even argue, rides better and you can still haul some stuff but there's no way I'd pay $100k or more for one, just because it might someday come with a 392. If anything, I'm already thinking about selling my Duramax to get something newer and at least I would be getting a lot more for a lot less money. We have been looking for a new vehicle and this is my biggest gripe. If utility is a must, a Gladiator is a far cry from being really useful. Nothing short of a full size truck, even with a standard bed will get you that.I have one, about to not have one; bought it to haul junk but it doesn't hold much, and I end up making multiple trips or renting a trailer (I can tow the trailer with the JLU)
If I didn't already have a full size truck, I would not have bought a Gladiator.I like mine as my commuter running to town it’s easy to get around the lockable tonneau cover makes a decent trunk. Small loads of landscaping material etc it’s handy. I do have a 3/4 ton truck for hauling and towing if needed.
Same here. Mines still bone stock and will probably stay that way.If I didn't already have a full size truck, I would not have bought a Gladiator.
Mine works for me because I can carry all of the camping/apocalypse shit I like to carry. lol. But I could certainly get by just fine with a wrangler and a small off road trailer for my RTT.We have been looking for a new vehicle and this is my biggest gripe. In a lot of ways, that is what I love about the Gladiator - it's not a full size truck. But again, I would not own one over a full size truck.I do like that it is smaller than a full size truck though on a daily driving basis. I test drove a Raptor the other day and it felt like I was back in our old Yukon XL.
You can do a HEMI swap now but you'd be in it for about about what it would cost to buy a Gladiator with a 392 IF it ever actually happens. Being that you're in Idaho, you could do a stand alone setup for a lot less though. If someone really dials in the V8 swap, I’ll go that route and likely keep my gladiator indefinitely (which is hopefully much longer than ten years…).
Believe me, the stand alone has crossed my mind since Boise dumped smog checks a couple of years ago. I’ll pay off my Gladiator next year and that’s when I’ll start looking seriously at options. I don’t need crazy power, but having SOME power would be nice.In a lot of ways, that is what I love about the Gladiator - it's not a full size truck. Gladiator would be worthless with kids. You need a minivanWe have been looking for a new vehicle and this is my biggest gripe.
