Where to find a 3.8 & Supercharger

I am considering swapping my current 3.8 for a new, rebuilt, or lower mileage 3.8 and adding a supercharger. Does anyone have experience with this and know where I can save some bucks in the process? I have heard RIPP is great, but not sure I am looking to spend $~6k on the kit. Any advice, tips, or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I am located in northern New Jersey incase someone knows a (within 40 miles) shop/junk yard, ect...

I do not get to wheel my Jeep much anymore except hunting/fishing trails or on the beach. So I am really looking to improve on road performance. Also considering dropping a D44 up front and regearing.

Check with Kamala Harris. She sucks about the same amount as that idea.

No, just no. Leave the 3.8 alone or put a V8 in it. I’m not a fan of boost and have only tried it on the newer Pentastar to avoid getting back in the V8 conversions. Turbos are gay, and we only had luck with one particular supercharger but it would help you anyways. We get tons of JK’s through here that have some roots style blower and they always have some issues or sound like shit.

Are turbos as gay as overlander or gayer?

Ive looked at v8 swaps for a long time, and this would be my preference. The wiring harnesses I have seen to be crazy expensive. Suggestions on where to find a good replacement 3.8 or "budget" friendly v8 swap

Neither one of those options exist lol. Honestly the 3.8 is great engine when it comes to reliability. It’s just underpowered.

Seeing a RIPP equipped JK at Moab was enough to make me sure to never ask that question. It had almost no fine throttle control. You had idle, a little bit more, then boost kicks in and hang on for the ride. It wanted to go WFO and stay there.

At least it had a loud whistle to warn people to get the hell out of the way, because it was coming and fast.

I personally would not want to drive something like that, either on or off road, except maybe to race it.

That whole hells gate episode got out of hand.

There is in cab video of it that I have seen, and you can hear him working the throttle, trying to be gentle, but it has literally no bottom end power. Just a touch more throttle, and you hear the boost come in and it screams like a pissed off demon. There was nothing in between.

That’s crazy. Not ideal for anything other than burnouts.

To quote Karl in Slingblade...

Overlander: Homosexual. I like men sexually.

Jkbrick: Not funny haha, funnyqueer.

Overlander: Well that's a very offensive way to put it.
