Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

My son and I decided to check out an offroad trail that went from Indian Springs, NV to just south of Cold Creek, NV and then we hit up trail 517 that took us to the foot of Mount Charleston. The picture of us parked at the foot of the "hill" is just before seeing what the Jeep was capable of on a steep incline (my estimation is 10-12%). There was a rather imposing storm on Mt Charleston when we got to the end of the trail and with this being our first trek out in the Jeep, I decided that out adventure for the day was at it's end.

Rescued someone that was stranded for ten hours last night. The Explorer was buried up to the frame, fairly easy pick. But the first hundred feet of the trail was pretty intense. The dude tried to go around a steep rocky shelf, and almost rolled it right down the hill! We got him his wife, and two kids back to pavement, with a transmission crossmember ripped half off, and a gas smell, didn't see a leak though.

Used to be just plain jane roadside markers but this year is 150 years for Canada so I guess the Feds decided to upgrade to help celebrate[emoji322]
