Wheel size?

I want to know what wheel size all of you guys are running, I plan on getting 35s and have noticed there is a significant difference in price depending on what size wheel I run. 16s are a lot less expensive than 17s or 18s send me pics of what you guys are running and what size wheel it is hopefully it'll help me decide :)

Level 8 trackers (16x8.5) with 4.5" back spacing wrapped with 315/75/16 Open Country MTs...

However, 17s have a wide variety of rim & tire selections. Plus it makes it more cost effective if you ever jump up to 37s...

I used to run 16's but then switched to 17's. the availability of tires and different wheel option in 17 are FAR greater than 16's. the price difference of 16's was nice but not worth it imo.

Now that I'm done college I'll be upgrading soon but I run 15s. VERY hard to find good tires in 15s but the saving was great. Personally I like the extra sidewall too

I want the new BFG ATs and a 35x12.5 r17 is 282 a piece the 315/75r16 is 225 a piece (according to tire rack) I most likely won't buy from them just getting a jist, would staying with the 17 inch wheel be worth an extra 230 dollar every time I need new tires? I will most likely never go to 37s

I feel your pain...If your absolutely sure then I say get the 16s....I already have the 35s in 16s and recently purchased 33s (BFG KM2s) for my stock 17s at $289 a piece

Just because your not going 37's doesn't mean that you should stay with 16's. Just the main fact that there are way more tires available in a 17 is a huge bonus as well. You may end up hating that tire or want to switch tires half way thru it's life. You find what you want but they only offer it in a 17. Just something to think about

Yeah that's a good point, ive already got my stock 17s as well and could save a bunch of money just running wheel spacers

Yup otherwise you need to buy new 16" wheels which at 70-150$ a piece. Just use the stock wheels with some spidertrax spacers and get that new set of 35's mounted up!

The guy I bought my YJ from put 16" wheels on it. I bought it with a set of bald ass swampers on it and now looking for tires are just a pain in the ass. Super Swamper is pretty much all the choices with bigger sizes.

I have 315/75/16s on my YJ. Craig's list deal. I had 33s he had those and he wanted to trade. Win for me. If used tires are your specialty then you can find lots of used tires off of trucks because a lot used 16" rims. On my JK, I'm running 35/12.5/17 KM2s on pro comp wheels. Gonna vary by manufacturer. Prolly somewhere around 33-33.5 on the jeep.

So with a 2.5 inch lift could I fit a 36-37? If the final size is 1.5-2 inches smaller than advertised? Or is that already taken into consideration

Suspension manufactures always go off of the side wall size. If they say their lift is for a 35X12.50 tire, they mean the numbers on the side wall, not the actual tire height on the Jeep.

Already considered. When they say X lift will clear X tire size, they mean the advertised tire size on the sidewall of the tire, not actual.

Ahh okay well I think I will be happy with the 35, I assume the same 1.5in-2.0in decrease in size once mounted applies to metric tire sizes as well? Such as a 315/70r17
