Wheel painting question

I've seen quite a few people spray paint their wheels with either plastidip or just flat black. I was wondering if you could use Rustolium bed liner to have the same look. Has anyone ever used something like this on their wheels? I'm balling on a budget here so work with me lol...any input would be appreciated.

Thanks guys

Most people do plasti dip cause they don't want it to be permanent. Other than that there is no hard in painting them

Yea I didn't even think of that. I already plastidipped my spare to see how the finish would turn out, and I kinda like it. Might just go the route till I can get some wheels.

I don't know about the bedliner. Seems kinda heavy to put on the wheels. I sanded mine down with a light grit, used primer and the vht wheel paint. Turned out great

VHT make an engine enamel spray paint called GM Satin Black. Excellent low gloss paint thats very tough.

I plasti dipped the wheels on my car a little over two years ago, my neighbors eyes were wide open wondering what the heck I was doing to my car with a can of spray paint. He was impressed at the finished product.

I did about 8 thin coats letting each dry before the next application. Keep your wrist locked and use your body to hit the angles you need.

I'd recommend taking the wheels off your jeep and i have seen some use a deck of cards wedged between the wheel and tire to help with over spray on the sidewalls.

Dipped mine, held up well thru mud holes, water crossings, brush and basic wheeling. Had my car wheels dipped for 4 years now, only had to touch up when changed tires. If you do them off the jeep, the first time you go to remove the lugs it will peel out of the holes. Did mine on the jeep, cold, stuffed cheap trash bags in wheel to cover the rotors, covered lugs with painters tape and painters tape around the bead. Approximately one can per wheel.
